In the game of love…
Georgiana Lucas despises the arrogant and cruel Marquess of Westmorland even before learning that
he’s won the deed to her friend Kitty’s home in a card game. Still, Georgiana assures Kitty the marquess
wouldn’t possibly come all the way to Derbyshire to throw them out—until he shows up, bloody and
unconscious. Fearing that Kitty would rather see him die, Georgiana blurts out that he’s her fiancé. She’ll

the truth is revealed, Rob must decide if the game is up—or if he’ll take a chance on a love that defies all

This was surprisingly sweet and low angst and I ain’t mad at it, to be quite honest. In fact, I ended up liking this book quite a lot.Lady Georgina knew of the Marquess of Westmoreland. They’ve crossed paths before and she pegged him to be rude and arrogant so it wasn’t a surprised when her friend Kitty informed her that the Marquess won the deed to her house and is coming to take it away. But instead of a hateful, arrogant man, they found the Marquess wounded, near death and without his memories. And who would be the one to nurse him back to health and help her friend in the process? Well, Georgina, of course!I am usually wary when it comes to the amnesia plot device. I find that they don’t always work but they worked perfectly here. There’s a bit of a mystery stuff related to how the Marquess came to be injured that didn’t resonate with me but the romance between the Marquess and Georgina more than made up for it. Their romance was sweet and both characters have great chemistry with each other. I enjoyed how they both have their expectations upended by love. When The Marquess Was Mine is another excellent addition to Linden’s Wages of Sin series. You can’t go wrong with this book!
