From New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis comes the next sexy, standalone novel in the Heartbreaker Bay series…
About ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE:
There’s no such thing as a little in love . . .
Elle Wheaton’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust . . .
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco earthquake and he craves her 24/7, but Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as . . .
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along . . .
Ever since they were introduced in Sweet Little Lies (the first book of Heartbreaker Bay series), I have been anxiously waiting for Archer and Elle’s book. There was a healthy amount of sexual tension hiding behind their antagonistic relationship, which sooner or later, would spill over.
This book was kind of the spilling over part. After years of circling each other, Elle and Archer finally gave in to the inevitable, and boy, it was fantastic to watch.
I adored Elle’s no bullshit attitude. She was a fighter in every sense of the word. But she’s also feminine and your regular girly girl who loves shoes and clothes. Her admirable loyalty to her friend as well as her complex relationship with her own family makes her character more layered and relatable. I love that juxtaposition of her character.
Archer Hunt is just a plain badass. A hot badass who would go through hell and back for his friends. Again, like Elle, Archer has a complicated relationship with his own father. It’s important to note that both Elle and Archer both carry the weight of their respective family’s expectation of them. Both have trust issues that they had to work through to get to a good place in their relationship. And Jill Shalvis is a master at writing layered, complex characters that you can relate to.
Heartbreaker Bay continues to capture my emotions and hold my attention. I cannot wait for Spence’s own story. I cannot. He’s probably one of the most mysterious characters Jill has ever written and I’m positively salivating at the thought of getting my hands on his book. Gah!
I highly recommend this series. It’s feel-good romance with such satisfying HEAs that’s like a balm to the soul. I’m not kidding. Grab your copy now!
