I hope y’all are having a great weekend, #bookstagram! What are you guys reading or looking forward to reading?

I’m about to finish Forbidden Promises by Synithia Williams. I started this one a couple of weeks ago but set it aside since it won’t be out until the last week of February. I’ve gotten back into it and it’s a solid 4 star read for me.
It’s a difficult trope to write but Synithia Williams did a great job in fleshing out the dynamics between India and Travis and her sister who also happens to be Travis’ ex wife. Yeah. It’s one of those tropes that could easily go wrong but was handled well by the author.

I finally found mine! 😭😭 A Heart of Blood and Ashes by @authormillavane is my first 5 star read of the year! You guys, I loved this book! It’s brutal and breathtaking, it’s fantasy romance at its best!
.
.
I loved Yvenne. She’s my queen & I would die for her 😭 I totally get why Maddek tied himself up in knots to get her. Their story wasn’t an easy one. It gets dark and very violent. If you’re averse to gore, then you might need to brace yourself coz there’s gore aplenty.
.
.
But there’s also heat. So much heat and sexiness between Yvenne & Maddek, it makes going through all that gore worth it. 😂 .
.
If you guys are in the mood for fantasy romance, I highly recommend this book!

Hey #bookstagram! I was finally able to get back to reading yesterday after a week of crazy at work! And I think it's totally fitting that the first book I chose was an Ilona Andrews novella. And it was so worth it!

Sweep With Me is a novella by Ilona Andrews and it follows the adventure of innkeeper Dina and her HEA, Sean as they try to house & manage two dozen space chickens, a mysterious liege from a magical planet, a timid raccoon, a space diplomat on a pilgrimage & a temperamental hedgehog chef. This novella is riot in the most fun way and I wish it wasn't so short. 😭😂

My friend @victoriapaigebooks wrote this one and she told me I would like the hero, Nate. First chapter in and she was right on the me because I immediately liked Nate. 😍😍 Which is a tough thing to do because I’m really hard on heroes and I constantly pick on them. 😂

I’m only halfway through since I haven’t done any reading this weekend but I’ve liked what I read so far and I’m really liking Nate! I hope to finish this one today!

Hey #bookstagram! I've been down with the flu since the other day and couldn't work much so I spent my time reading and finished this book in one sitting.

Every New Year by @katjacksonbooks is about two friends who are into each other but can't seem to actually be together. It's a romance that spans almost two decades with so much pining. I loved it so much!
.
I loved Ezra and Candace, both as individual characters and as a couple. Their individual journeys made the HEA all the more sweeter. And despite the fact that this book contain a non-linear timeline that usually drives me bonkers, it worked in this book so well that I couldn't see the story unfolding any other way. .
Katrina Jackson was able to weave a truly engaging romance with characters I immediately connected with and yes, I want more from this author. .
