Review: Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik

So this was a bit of a mixed bag for me. There are plenty of things to like in this book but there are some things that I just wasn’t feeling at all. Despite my mixed feelings, I’m excited for the second book and see what else can this author do. The book starts off with Ada getting captured by mercenaries after being on a run for several years to avoid a political marriage to her family’s rival arranged by her father. She was locked in cell with Marcus Loch, the galaxy’s most notorious criminal. Ada had no plans of returning to her father and she knows just who to talk into helping her escape. There are a lot of aspects that I really like in this book, Ada Von Hasenberg being number one on that list. She might be a pawn in her father’s political plans but damn if […]

Review: Scoring the Player’s Baby by Naima Simone

Review One of the things that I really like about Naima Simone’s books are her characters. She writes hot-as-sin heroes and gorgeous, accomplished heroines. Scoring the Player’s Baby is no different. It’s a fun, sexy read with a lot of heart. “I’ll give you whatever you ask for. Use me in any way you need to erase those shadows in your eyes.” Ronin Palamo is living a life most men could only dream of. He’s playing for a championship caliber team and he doesn’t lack female companionship. He has it all. But it doesn’t take long for readers to notice that Ronin is hiding a deep wound. One that makes him wary of love and relationship. He doesn’t want it or need it. Or so he thought. His resolve was tested when he meets Kim Matloc. Like Ronin, Kim is hiding wounds of her own. She was cheated on by […]

ARC Review: Elastic Hearts (Hearts #3) by Claire Contreras

“You are every goal I never knew I wanted.” I became a huge fan of Claire Contreras and this series when I read Kaleidoscope Hearts last year. By the time Paper Hearts was released, I may have graduated to stalker status. So when I heard that she’s going to write a book on Victor, I was over the moon. Elastic Hearts is the third installment of the Hearts series, and I have to say that the tone of this book is more lighthearted compared to the angst fest Claire served up in the previous two installments. This tripped me up a bit. While I did enjoy Elastic Hearts, I didn’t fully get invested in Victor and Nicole’s story until the second half. Victor was an up and coming lawyer when he and Nicole met and had a brief fling together. Unfortunately, Nicole also happens to be the boss’ daughter which […]

ARC Review: Tool by Sabrina Paige

Synopsis I call him “Tool” because he’s a dick. Gaige O’Neal is nicknamed “Tool” because of what he’s packing. Rumor is, he’s well equipped. I wouldn’t know. I’ve never had the pleasure. He’s a cocky, entitled, insufferable a**hole who’s as reckless with women as he is with that stupid motorcycle he races. He’s also my stepbrother. Lucky me. It’s been four years since I’ve seen him. Four years since he’s made me so frustrated I could scream. Four years since he’s given me that look, the one that makes me instantly wet. So it’s just f**ing fitting that the first time I see him in four years, he’s buried beneath three scantily clad blondes. Now I’m stuck here under the same roof with him while he recovers from a racing injury. An injury that clearly hasn’t affected the use of his tool. The problem is, as much as I despise him, I just can’t […]
