ARC Review: Cartel by Lilli St. Germain

My very first Lili St. Germain book, and definitely not my last. I was a bit nervous starting this book. I don’t consider myself a dark reader especially when it comes to my romance, and I’m picky when it comes to my dark reads. Fortunately, I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed the writing and got sucked into the world that Lili built. Although I have to say, this book or this series in general isn’t really considered romance, but there is a very strong romantic elements that runs throughout the whole book that most romance readers like me would appreciate.  So what is it about? How much is a life worth? I grew up in Colombia, the daughter of a wealthy drug lord. I lived a life of extravagance, until one day a drug run went horribly wrong and everything came crashing down around us. I was given […]

Review: Royal Heirs Required by Cat Schield

Blurb A prince’s surprise twins may turn his royal marriage into something more? Prince Gabriel Alessandro’s top priority is continuing the family line, and he’s found the perfect bride-to-be in Lady Olivia Darcy. While their royal marriage is not based on love, he desires her. Making a baby together will be pure pleasure. Then Gabriel learns he is already a father to twins. Olivia surprises Gabriel with her acceptance of his motherless girls, making him believe their loveless union could blossom into something more. But Olivia’s agreement conceals a devastating secret. In danger of losing the dynasty he so desires, will he risk choosing love over duty? I’ve been reading quite a lot of books with an MOC trope lately, and this book is one of the better ones I’ve read. Prince Gabriel Alessandro is the crown prince of Sherdana. He is expected to marry not for love but for […]

Review: Hero by Samantha Young

Hero has been on my most anticipated list for this year, so I was pleasantly surprised when NAL approved me for an electronic ARC of this book. I simply love Samantha Young’s writing. But first, let’s check out the blurb for Hero. Alexa Holland’s father was her hero—until her shocking discovery that she and her mother weren’t his only family. Ever since, Alexa has worked to turn her life in a different direction and forge her own identity outside of his terrible secrets,. But when she meets a man who’s as damaged by her father’s mistakes as she is, Alexa must help him. Caine Carraway wants nothing to do with Alexa’s efforts at redemption, but it’s not so easy to push her away. Determined to make her hate him, he brings her to the edge of her patience and waits for her to walk away. But his actions only draw […]

Review: Always Been Mine by Victoria Page

Blurb Beatrice Porter swore she would never fall in love with a man like her father. For years she watched her mother self-destruct in bitterness, married to someone who only lived for his job. Gabriel Sullivan was such a man—a Navy SEAL, a man who put duty and country above all else. Yet falling in love with him was inevitable. She thought their relationship could work until he’d left her one night with a broken heart and her pride in tatters. Three years later, he’s back and he wants a second chance. Having committed atrocities for the greater good, Gabe has nothing left but darkness inside him. The only flicker of light is the memory of Beatrice—a woman embedded deeply under his skin. Winning her back won’t be easy for she has erected walls that only the toughest of SEALs can hope to scale. When Beatrice finds herself at the […]

Review: The Charlotte Chronicles (The Jackson Boys #1) by Jen Frederick

Blurb Charlotte and Nathan were supposed to be forever. They grew up together. Their families were intertwined. Charlotte was Nathan’s first love. Nathan was Charlotte’s first everything. Until they weren’t. How do you hold on to the person you know in your heart you are supposed to be with when everything and everyone in the universe is telling you it’s over? How many times does a heart break? When is enough…..enough?How long is forever? I spent quite a bit of time going back and forth with my rating. I can’t decide whether to rate it 3.5 or 4. In the end, I decided to go with four for these reasons… Nate and Charlie. From the get go, I felt their connection and chemistry together. Considering that Nick also figures pretty prominently in the book, that’s no easy feat. Ms. Frederick was able to establish early on the indelible connection between Nate […]
